AI Engineer Lead

AI is the dominant technology of the decade. This role offers the opportunity to build and deploy new AI products from the ground up. The successful candidate will be part of a team defining our AI strategy and problem-solving. This position will also help build our AI development and production infrastructure and set our technical standards.

To succeed, the lead must be an expert in building AI models and putting them into production. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, well organized, and demonstrate leadership experience related to AI development.

The position is located on-site in Perrysburg, Ohio and reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

Job Duties

• Optimize and manage our AI development and production infrastructure

• Build data ingest and data transformation infrastructure

• Identify transfer learning opportunities and new training datasets

• Build AI models from scratch and help product managers and stakeholders understand results

• Deploy AI models into production

• Keep current on latest AI research relevant to our business domain

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Physical Sciences or equivalent work experience

• 5-8 years of developing and training deep neural network models

• 5-8 years of experience working with large remote image datasets

• Scientifically sound approach to machine learning

• Demonstrates commitment to learning about AI through your own initiatives through courses, books, or side projects

Skills

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and platforms with a strong foundation in a statistical analysis (Python, R, GDAL, Numpy, Orfeo Toolbox, AWS Batch, etc.)

• Experience building AI models in platforms such as PyTorch, Keras, Deep Neural network/CNN

• Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies

• Ability to provide in-depth evaluation and analysis of unique complex technological issues

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly

• Excellent organization and time management skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
