Systems Administrator

Satelytics is seeking a self-driven, highly motivated System Administrator to manage and upgrade our software, hardware, and networks as a part of our Software Development Team.

The individual in this position will be responsible for our technology infrastructure, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently. This position requires interaction with an array of interdisciplinary teams and employees within Satelytics, supporting them by maintaining and improving day-to-day operations and troubleshooting IT-related issues.

Job Duties

  • Maintaining day-to-day operations of Satelytics' computer systems, including networks, servers, desktops, and laptops
  • Performing system upgrades and installations, ensuring high performance
  • Providing technical support to employees and troubleshooting issues
  • Managing user accounts, permissions, and backups
  • Developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures for the use of computer systems
  • Developing and updating technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies
  • Monitoring and maintaining network security, firewalls, and antivirus systems
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest technology trends and recommending solutions to improve Satelytics' IT infrastructure
  • Assisting in Satelytics' cloud infrastructure design and management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Certified in relevant technologies (e.g. MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes is a plus
  • Experience with Jupyterhub is a plus

Skills

  • Proficient in Windows, Linux, and MacOS operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and security best practices
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Hyper-V
  • Familiarity with cloud computing solutions, particularly AWS and Azure
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
